Sestercentennial Committee & Salisbury Historical Society Team Up with a Float in the Andover July 4th Parade

By Gail Henry

Big news!  Look for a float celebrating Salisbury’s 250th birthday in the Andover 4th of July Parade.  The Sestercentennial Committee and the Salisbury Historical Society will team up to join the fun.

People around town are already designing or planting their Welcome Wagons of Salisbury.  This is a fun competition where families will create some sort of container to go at the end of their driveways showing people who drive or walk by just how welcoming we can be.  Judging (by impartial out-of-towners) will take place at the end of July. Barn Store gift cards will be awarded to the top three displays. Registration forms are available around town or by calling 934-2172.

If you would like to order any of our commemorative items, please email snhsester250@nullgmail.com.  We have DMV-sanctioned license plates, glass medallions, calendars plus the hats, T-shirts, aprons and very useful tote bags and kitchen towels.  All have our distinctive 250th celebration design. Nothing costs more than $25 and any profit will go toward more events to benefit the town. A price list is available on our town website, salisburynh.org, and our Facebook page, Salisbury New Hampshire 250th.

Everyone is welcome to the next Old Home Day committee meeting on June 13 at 6:30 PM upstairs in Academy Hall.
