Andover Lions are Planning a Busy Summer

Seeking new members to help serve the community

By Joyce Egge, Andover Lions Club

The Andover Lions hosted an Open House on April 22 at 6 PM at Naughty Nellies for prospective new members and former members. An ice cream social with many toppings was provided by Naughty Nellies and was a big hit. We have one new member, Mrs. Laura Danforth, and are working on welcoming another one. Our May meeting, headed up by our fearless Vice President, Duncan Coolidge, consisted of a review of our two scholarship recipients, plans for the Fourth Of July celebration, and a reminder of our Installation of Officers on June 10 at Alan’s in Boscawen. Our speaker for the evening was financial adviser Brandon Alexander. Our spring road cleanup from Andover to Danbury yielded 43 bags of trash and a couple of days of work.

We have a busy summer planned with the Fourth of July activities that include our famous pancake breakfast and foods on the green. We have scheduled a night at the Fisher Cats ball game with BBQ. We will again be cooking at Musterfield and at the Danbury Grange fair, plus hosting a golf tournament at the end of September.
