The Andover 5th and 6th grade girls and boys played in one more tournament on October 28. The boys played first and came out in fourth place, taking home individual medals. Jack Newton took first in the boys juggling competition.

The girls played later in the day and came out on top, scoring eight more points than their closest opponent. Sophia Weber also took first place in the girls juggling competition.

Congratulations to both 5/6 teams on their accomplishments this year, and a huge thank you to the coaches for sticking with them during their long season.

By Claudio Marcus, Girls 5/6 coach

The Andover 5/6 girls soccer team began its season with an optimistic outlook tempered by the challenge of bringing together a group of relatively seasoned players along with newer and younger newcomers to the game of soccer. From the beginning, we focused on developing basic game skills and playing as a team.

We faced some ups and downs during the season, but the team’s competitive spirit, individual skills, and team play improved significantly throughout. The team peaked just in time for the post-season and came away triumphant in both the Merrimack Valley Cup and the Merrimack Valley Tournament.

We can all be very proud of these fine girls.
