Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be at 7 p.m.

The Advent season is a busy time for Christians.  We began this season on December 3rd with the lighting of the Advent candle and a reading of the appropriate scripture for that week.   The four candles we light up on consecutive Sundays represent Peace, Joy, Love and Hope.  The final candle, the Christ Candle, will be lit at our Christmas Eve service on December 24th.  This service starts at 7:000 PM and includes lots of favorite Christmas Carols  and an uplifting message.  We invite you all to attend this service and share in the joy of the Savior’s birth and give praise for the wonderful gift of life and love He offers for each of us.

We also plan on going to various houses (elderly, shut-ins) for Christmas Caroling.  The date will be December 17th, probably beginning at 4:00 or 5:00 PM.  Call the Church office for more information on this.  A group from the Church also goes singing at Peabody and Mountain Ridge nursing homes the first Sunday of each month (1:30 PM)  New voices would be most welcome.

Our Samaritan’s Purse (Operation Christmas Child) undertaking was very successful,  Almost 60 shoeboxes were put together with needy items by Church members and friends.  Thanks to all who helped, and a special thank you to Joyce Bourdon for overseeing this mission.  We also continue to bring food as well as help out at the Twin Rivers food pantry.

We hope to see you at our Christmas Eve Services (regular one at 9:30 AM and special service at 7 PM).  Always feel free to call the Church office at 735-5160 to speak with Pastor John Wagner for more information on what’s going on at the Church or if you need help in any way.  Our Church service and Sunday School begin at 9:30 AM every Sunday.

To one and all – our best wishes for a Joyous, Peace-filled Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
