Pemigewasset Choral Society Presents Holiday Concerts

Featuring Pinkham’s Christmas Cantata

The Pemigewasset Choral Society, a non-auditioned adult community chorus now in it’s 45th season, will present Pinkham’s Christmas Cantata in three separate concerts early in December. The society is based at Plymouth State College but is made up of performers from all over Central New Hampshire, including Mary Lloyd Evans, Donavon Freeman, and Margo Coolidge of Andover.

Daniel Pinkham wrote his Christmas Cantata in 1957 for two choruses and brass ensemble. The performances will feature the Redline Brass  Quintet. The music director is Will Gunn, with assistant director Leslie McDonnell and Laura Belanger as accompanist.

The first performance will be on Thursday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Gilford Community Church in Gilford. On Friday, December 15, the concert will repeat at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Franklin and finally on Sunday, December 17 at 3 p.m. at Silver Center for the Arts, Plymouth State College in Plymouth. Admission in Gilford and Franklin is by donation.  Admission will be charged for the performance in Plymouth. Students $5, Seniors and youth $9, and adults $15. Tickets are availabe at the Silver Center box office or in advance by calling 555-ARTS.
