Andover’s MVHS Seniors Show Their Best Work

Senior Project Roadshow on April 17 at AE/MS

Andover’s MVHS ’14 students showed off their Senior Projects at MVHS last month. Senior Project represents the culmination of a student’s work at MVHS, and each senior is required to pick a topic that will challenge them and make them stretch.

Completing a senior project is a graduation requirement, and doing so is no walk in the park. Besides the product itself, the student must write a paper, create a presentation, and prepare a portfolio.

Here are this year’s senior projects:

Haley Adams: “How can learning self defense help people physically, mentally, and emotionally?”

Katelyn Ashburn: “How can people and families in a community support local veterans?”

John Bates: “How can I successfully restore and rebuild a 1994 Ford F150?”

Sam Bentley: “What does it take to build a functioning motocross bike?”

Jacob Chaplain: “What skills and knowledge can be acquired from learning the rebuilding and restoration process of a snowmobile?”

Devynne Dlubac: “How should an artist successfully approach a commission?”

Logan Donovan: “What does it take to organize a service project that can benefit the community?”

Brooke Ellis: “What is the process of organizing a fundraiser to benefit a food pantry?”

Erin Frost: “How can I effectively teach children the importance of dental hygiene?”

Kody Keller: “What goes into building an acoustic guitar?”

Kyle Keller: “What goes into creating a traditional longbow?”

Emily Lance: “What components of cosmetic advertisements are most effective in attracting consumers’ interests, and what is the process to create effective advertisements?”

Seth Newton: “How have advances in firearms made life better for the human population?”

Kyle Smart: “How can building a bench help me develop woodworking skills?”

Skyler Smith: “Would it be more cost effective to build a greenhouse out of recycled windows as opposed to building one out of new materials?”

Rebekah Stearns: “How can organizing and participating in a Juvenile Diabetic Mentoring Program for newly-diagnosed diabetics better me as a diabetic and a person?”

Senior Project Roadshow

All the Andover seniors have been invited to bring their Senior Project presentations to AE/MS for public display on Thursday, April 17, at 8:15 AM. It’s a chance for all the community to see their work, and for AE/MS eighth graders to get a look at what will be expected of them four years from now.
