August will bring more exploring and fun

The Adventurers at Imagination Inn's summer camp enjoyed a week of Career and Community. We enjoyed a visit and chatting with Mary Meier at New Horizons Hairstylists. Front: George Katsanos, Kessa Jeannotte, Paige Olson, Daniel Demers, Sydney Pourby, Brody Hawks, and Liam Duchense. Back: Max and Russell Suckling, Alainna Budgett, Aidan Duchense, and Tyler Lacey.

Summer campers at the Inn have been busy exploring, creating. and getting messy – one of our favorite things to do! We started the summer pitching a tent, making s’mores, celebrating our independence, and fishing for some ocean fun.

As July continued we enjoyed learning about careers and the community we live in. The children toured New Horizons Hairstylists, the Town Office, the Andover Library, Jake’s Market, Lake Sunapee Bank, Ragged Mountain Physical Therapy, the Police Station, the Fire Station, Andover Elementary/Middle School, and Pizza Chef.

We learned about being a chef, firefighter, policeman, clerk, secretary, teacher, librarian, bank teller, physical therapist, hairstylist, and server. There is so much to do and learn that it’s always a great adventure. Huge thank you to everyone who welcomed our little ones and helped them learn more about all the heroes that make up our community.

The summer months continue to roll by as we enjoy exploring the outdoors, the rail trails, and anything water related. Our mornings begin with bug spray and sunscreen and end a bit wet, muddy, and sometimes unrecognizable – one of the many things we love about summer at the Inn.

August will find us exploring the Stone Age, writing on rocks, and finding fossils. We will put on our goggles and create many fun science concoctions. We will be making volcano-like messes with baking soda, vinegar, and elephant paste. Silly putty, frozen goop, and green slime will end our Mad Science Week.

Animal Antics will have us on the hunt for bear, deer, and raccoon tracks. We will be venturing down the rail trail wearing our explorer hats. We will be doing the jungle boogie (if you haven’t tried it, you must!) and perhaps even going on a musical bear hunt.

We will be racing to the finish as our summer program ends on Thursday, August 22. The children will be enjoying three-legged racing, watermelon eating, and hula hoop racing. It will be a gold medal end to yet another summer here at the Inn!
