Carol J. (Hill) Gallagher, 70, of Plaistow, also known as Meme to her grandchildren, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2015 at Exeter Center in Exeter. She was born on September 25, 1945 in Danbury, the daughter of the late Richard G. and Rachel (Woodard) Hill. She was raised in Danbury and graduated from Andover High School.

Carol had worked in the shoe industry for 20 years at Styletek in Lowell, Massachusetts. She also worked for 20 years as a dietary aid at Baker Katz Nursing Home in Haverhill, Massachusetts. She retired in 2011 due to her failing health.

She enjoyed taking trips to visit lighthouses with her husband, Robert. She also enjoyed going on shopping and day trips with her girlfriends. Above all else, Carol found much enjoyment spending time with all of her grandchildren and with her Terrier, Penelope, and her Chihuahua, Abner.

Carol is survived by her son, Timothy M. Gallagher and his wife Shellie of Plaistow; her grandchildren: Lily Gallagher, Cole Gallagher, Gavin Gallagher, Jory Jackman; her great-grandson, Arkan Noyes; and her sister, Edna Peters and her husband Robert of Andover. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Gallagher, in 1998; her brother, Graham Hill; and her sisters: Barbara Evans, Eleanor Hill, and Margaret Thomas.

There were no funeral services. Family and friends were invited to attend Mrs. Gallagher’s Life Celebration on November 14 at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home in Plaistow. Burial will take place next spring, at the convenience of her family.
