People - Deaths - 160728 ShawLois (Stuart) Shaw, 88, of New London, died on July 28, 2016, at the New London Hospital. She was born in Saugus, Massachusetts on November 5, 1927, the daughter of Ernest and Mildred (Tilton) Stuart.

Lois graduated from Andover High School in 1945, lived in Elkins and New London, and from 1982 to 1986 resided in Wilmot before moving back to New London. She worked at New London Hospital, was an assistant to James Brown, DDS, and was a loan officer at New London Trust Company for many years.

Lois was a member of the Wilmot Baptist Church and the Elkins Chapel Society. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and also volunteered as a hospice care provider with the VNA for many years. Lois loved animals, flowers, and gardening.

Her husband of 69 years, Leslie W. Shaw, died in 2015. She was also predeceased by a granddaughter, Jennifer Shaw White, and a great-grandson, Daniel F. White III, and two siblings, Ruth Schuck and James Stuart.

Members of her family surviving include two sons and their wives, Roger and Agnes Shaw of Concord and David and Frankie Shaw of Greenville, South Carolina; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jeffrey and Jill Shaw of Concord, Anne Shaw of Greenville, South Carolina, Kathryn and Brian Sanders of Easley, South Carolina, Nancy and Jeremy West of Traveler’s Rest, South Carolina, and Emily and Jeremy Hickey of  Windermere, Florida; 11 great-grandchildren, Oliver, Sophia, Trevor, Max, David, Micah, Clare, Ryan, Brendan, Hannah, and Ethan; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 13, at 2 PM at the Wilmot Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Allen Koop, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Wilmot. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wilmot Baptist Church, PO Box 101, Wilmot NH 03287.
