An ongoing Cribbage Night will begin Wednesday, March 7, at The Andover Hub from 6-8 PM. It is open to anyone who enjoys a friendly game of cribbage and new players are welcome at any time. A “refresher class” will be taught by Salisbury resident Helen Binette on Tuesday, March 6 at 6 PM for those who’ve never played or would like to brush up on the rules of the game.

Using the long-standing cribbage night in Salisbury as a model, each player will donate $5 each evening to the pot, players will play in teams of two, and the five top-scoring teams will split the pot at the end of the evening. Coffee will be available and it is suggested that those playing bring a snack to share. Andover resident Heather Wood is coordinating Cribbage Night. According to Wikipedia, cribbage was created in the early 17th century and is one of the most popular games in the English-speaking world. Cribbage holds a special place among American submariners, serving as an “official” pastime on board submarines in the US Pacific Fleet.
