Genevra O’Donohoe, age 10 of Andover, is growing a garden with the intention of donating 100% of the harvest to Twin Rivers Interfaith Food Pantry in Franklin. Genevra is participating in a nation-wide organization called “Katie’s Krops” which began in 2008 with a 9-year-old and a 40-pound cabbage. Now there are many young folks growing more than 100 gardens in 30 states. The organization’s mission is to raise awareness about hunger and to empower youth to do something about it one vegetable garden at a time. Genevra has already delivered over 15 pounds of fresh produce to the Pantry, and her fresh vegetables are such a welcome sight! We thank her for her hard work to fight hunger in her community!
