First Thursday Hike at The Fells

Join Brick Moltz, Education Director at The Fells, for a one-hour hike on The Fells property. These informal, moderate walks will be an opportunity to get a little exercise, spend time out in the landscape, and perhaps discover something new about the property once owned by the John Hay family. Birding by Sight and Sound

If it’s early May, we are in the middle of the great spring bird migration. Join local expert Peter Newbern for an early morning easy to moderate bird walk, learning some tricks about how to identify bird songs and calls by interpreting what it seems like they are singing, followed by a chance to hear and see some of the neo-tropical birds returning to NH and to habitats further north. National Public Gardens Day

Ecology Exhibit: Listening to the Land

In his book A Beginner’s Faith in Things Unseen, environmentalist and nature writer John Hay encourages us to listen to nature in order to discern our connection with all of life. Through ecology programs, interactive exhibits, journaling opportunities, and even “Forest Bathing,” we hope to teach our visitors how to listen to the land at The Fells and in their own backyards.
