On February 15, the Andover Snowmobile Club held its annual Snowfest event at the Andover Fish and Game Club in East Andover. It was our 11th year hosting this event.

One never knows what the snow and riding conditions will be. This year we lucked out in that we had plenty of snow coverage, and the rail trail was in good shape, so lots of folks were able to ride their sleds here. Others happened to be riding by and stopped in.

This event is a fun day and an opportunity for folks to show off their antique and vintage machines. We had 15 machines on display and a good attendance by folks stopping to look and enjoy the awesome food. There was no charge for the food … donations only. The club thinks of this event as a “fun raiser” rather than a “fund raiser.”

This year we had only three awards. The winners were:

  • People’s Choice Antique – John Elliott for his 1969 Arctic Cat 634 Panther
  • People’s Choice Vintage – Tom Harnisch for his 1976 Rupp 440 Magnum
  • Chairman’s Choice – Dave Mackinaw for his 1972 Arctic Cat EXT

Thanks to all who helped make this a success and to all the cooks who provided the crock pots of hot food and the desserts, and to the cooks who prepared hamburgers and hot dogs!
