First Friday Art Includes Work by Barbara Hunting

Andover artist exhibits at New London Hospital

Press release

The community is invited to the Lake Sunapee Region Center for the Arts’ “First Fridays” program on May 2 from 5 to 7 PM. Gallery openings and the artists’ receptions are taking place at several New London locations. All Center for the Arts “First Friday” events are free and open to the public.

Join us for this special evening with great art and music. New London Hospital and The Center for the Arts have collaborated to co-present their spring art openings. Also, we are honored to have the Kearsarge Chorale Chamber Singers performing at the New London Inn. As is our tradition, there will be light refreshments and a chance to meet the artists and singers.

This special evening will showcase five area artists at New London Hospital. The artists include:

Barbara Hunting: Acrylic on board with emphasis on landscapes – Acrylics

Brenna Colt: Everyday objects, taken out of environmental context – Photography

Linda Dessaint: Fine art landscapes – Oil, Pastel

Ann Eldridge: Nature studies using traditional etching techniques – Etchings

Stephen Gorman: The Art of the Wild – Photography

The Micro Gallery at Country Houses Real Estate will host the fine art of Ludmila Gayvoronsky, who was born and raised in Ukraine. She graduated from the Sourikow’s Art Academy in Moscow and became a member of Gorkom Kultury, an organization of non-conformist artists. She immigrated to the United States in 1980 and moved to Newport, New Hampshire in 1993.

Ludmila teaches fine art at Lebanon College and gives workshops locally. She believes art gives her a reason for existing. Her art strives for simplicity, as she fuses both abstract and real. She believes that “finished” in not compatible with artistic quality.

Kyle Stuckey will display his work at the New London Inn. He began a serious study of art during his high school years through workshops and private instruction. His style has evolved as a contemporary realism artist. He works mostly in oil and enjoys a variety of subject matter.

“I paint what I want the world to see. I try to share with others what I find to be beautiful.” Kyle resides in Keene and is a member of the Putney Painters, an invitational group mentored by Richard Schmid and Nancy Guzik.

The Kearsarge Chorale Chamber Singers will be performing at the New London Inn. They will perform “lighter” musical selections. This evening will include compositions by Gershwin and Cole Porter such as I Got Rhythm, Night and Day, Ain’t Misbehavin’, and Blue Moon. The program may include some early American Shaker songs as well as madrigals and additional classic music.

Make your evening special by visiting each of the open galleries, admiring the talent, and meeting the artists. All “First Friday” events are free and open to the public.
