Wilmot Ladies Aid Hosts Bandstand Supper

Saturday, August 2 in Wilmot Flat

Press release

The Wilmot Ladies Aid Society will offer a hot dog and baked bean supper from 6 to 8 PM on Saturday, August 2, on the Wilmot Village Green, just off Route 11 on Kearsarge Valley Road in Wilmot Flat.

The Ladies are busy cooking up this summer favorite, which features a hot dog (beef or chicken) and three homemade side dishes: baked beans, slaw, and pasta salad; dessert; and a drink, all for $8. Bring lawn chairs, the family, and friends for a lovely evening out while enjoying country and rock and roll music played by the Cloud Band.

Individual servings of hot dogs, desserts, and drinks are also available, as is complimentary popcorn sponsored by Country Houses Real Estate.

Just recently, the Ladies launched a public appeal for donations to purchase a park bench to be placed in the Wilmot Village Green in memory of Alice Chandler, a longtime resident of Wilmot, a Ladies member, and a Wilmot Welfare Officer. Alice, who died last year, went to great effort to help the lonely, elderly, and sick among us.

Donations may be sent directly to the Ladies at PO Box 411, Wilmot 03287, with checks made out to the society and “Alice Chandler memorial” written in the memo line.

The Ladies host the popular Senior Luncheons at the Wilmot Community Association Red Barn from September through April. Mark your calendars now to attend the first one of the season, at noon on Thursday, September 18.

In general, the Ladies raise funds to support community organizations and its Merit Award Program, which offers financial awards to aspiring Wilmot high school graduates.
