Dear AEMS Family,

Monday was Fire Safety Day and all of the students in K-8 had a chance to visit the Andover Fire Station and learn more about Andover Emergency Services. We appreciate the volunteer time and effort that went into the presentations. It is a favorite day for us!

Walk-to-School Day was postponed because of the crazy morning weather. We plan to walk next Wednesday, October 15th.

How well do you know your prepositions? Check out the latest video created by Ms. Edmunds and starring our 7th grade grammarians at www.aemseagles.org.

This is the last week that we will be sending hard copies of the parent letter home with students. We now have email addresses for almost all of our school families and we will send the letter and attachments electronically. Please contact Gail Parenteau if you want to continue to get a hard copy of the letter after this week.

Over one hundred students received flu shots this morning. Next week staff members have the same opportunity to have flu shots at school. Thank you to Mrs. Frost for arranging this. We know many parents appreciate this service.

You have probably noticed that the bridge on Route 4 near Plains Road and Bay Road will be closing next week. It is expected to remain closed until the week before Thanksgiving. Students who ride bus #3 will be impacted by the detour. Attached is a new pick-up and drop-off schedule for bus #3.

Recreation basketball information is attached. The earlier you sign up the easier it is for the coaches to organize teams. You can sign up in person at Math Night. The forms are also on our school website.

Progress reports will be sent home with students on October 17th.

Friday Night Lights! – Our AEMS Eagles will have the chance to play soccer under the lights on Friday, October 24th, on the Proctor turf field. Wear your blue and white and come out and support the Eagles! The game starts at 6:00.

Students have no school tomorrow or Monday. Tomorrow is a teacher workshop day and Monday is Columbus Day.

Enjoy the four day weekend!
