Candidate for Governor: Maggie Hassan

Town News - News - Candidate - Governor - Hassan

Since entering office, I have worked to bring together members of both parties to help innovative businesses, create jobs, expand middle class opportunity, and keep our economy moving in the right direction.

We passed the most bipartisan budget in over a decade without a sales or income tax, froze in-state tuition at the university system, revitalized our state’s economic development efforts, reached a bipartisan compromise to expand access to health care to 50,000 working people, worked with both parties and the business community to develop a plan to fix our roads and bridges, including finishing the expansion of I-93.

Working together, we have set in motion an innovation plan that is strengthening the foundation of our 21st century economy. Unemployment has dropped to the lowest level since 2008 and the private sector has created thousands of jobs in the last year. We need to continue working to keep our economy moving forward.

We must continue working to make health care and higher education more affordable and accessible, reduce the cost of energy for families and businesses, help innovative business start up in New Hampshire, make it easier for our existing companies to grow, and  give working families a better opportunity to make ends meet by restoring and improving the minimum wage.

We have more work to do, but I know we can continue to do it the New Hampshire way – by bringing people together to solve problems and get things done for our people and businesses. For more information, visit MaggieHassan.com.
