Andover Congregational Hosts Craft and Bake Sale

November 22 from 8 AM to 1 PM

By Sandy Miller, Andover Congregational Church

Work on the Andover Congregational Church steeple should be completed by the time you read this article. The rain slowed progress slightly. A big “Thank you!” to John and Joyce Bourdon and their “friends” for their hard work on this project.

Our next undertaking is a revamping of the Church parking lot. Plans have been drawn up to make parking more efficient and easier. We will be holding a special meeting for members to approve an expenditure of money from our Perpetual Care fund.

Do you have a used snow blower in running condition you might be willing to donate to our Church (or sell at a very reasonable price)? We are looking for someone to run a snow blower and shovel steps this winter. For further information, call either Howard Proctor at 735-4326 or Steve Kelley at 934-4961, both of whom are Trustees.

The Adult Sunday School class led by Robin Visser, The Bible in 180 Days, began on September 28 with 15 people attending. Join us on Sundays at 8:30 AM at the Highland Lake Grange Hall to read through and learn more about the Bible.

The next Men’s Breakfast will be held at the Highland Lake Grange Hall on Saturday, November 8, from 8:15 to 10 AM. Breakfast will be followed by a guest speaker. There is no charge for this event, and all men are invited and welcomed.

The Technology Department has pretty much reached its goal of $7,000 to upgrade our electrical and audio/visual system. All work should be completed for the Christmas season.

The Church will hold its annual Craft and Bake Sale on Saturday, November 22, from 8 AM to 1 PM at the Highland Lake Grange Hall. There will be many crafts by local talents, gift tables containing new and gently used items at bargain prices, and lots of homemade goodies including homemade jams, pies, fudge, cookies, breads, rolls, etc. We’ve set the opening time early, so you can visit us first and not miss out on the bargains. Call 934-3198 for further information.

We invite you to attend a Thanksgiving Eve service on Wednesday, November 26, at 7 PM at the Church. Join us as we worship God in prayer, song, and a message by Pastor John Wagner. The service should last no longer than an hour. This is a meaningful way that we can all give thanks to God for his many blessings throughout the year.

If possible, we ask that you bring a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry. Any monetary collection will also go to the food pantry.

A very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving to all!
