Grace and Hope Church Established in Andover

Meets in Potter Place Masonic Hall

By Karen Heavey, pastor, GHCC

Let me introduce myself. My name is Reverend Karen Heavey, pastor of the newly established Grace and Hope Community Church (GHCC), now located in Andover.

I was asked: What made you decide to come to Andover? I smiled and answered, “Why not!” Besides, that is the name of the road where we are located – Cilleyville – at the Masonic Lodge, #81. Yet there is nothing silly about us, really. We are a Mission Church seeking to grow and become part of this community.

On Sundays we hold fellowship with brunch at 11:45 AM, followed by worship at or before 12:30 PM. Communion is held on the first Sunday of every month. Our Sunday schedule appears to work well for us, as many find it difficult rising early in the morning to attend church, and this time is easier and more “do-able” for many.

Also, I offer Bible Study at 452 Route 4 in Danbury starting at 6:30 PM every Wednesday evening. We will be studying the Nativity Narratives beginning on December 3.

I am part of the American Baptist Churches of Vermont and New Hampshire and have been ordained by them for many years. We are a very friendly, Christ/God-centered and loving faith community from many walks of life.

Many are new believers seeking to know the Lord and bring His teachings of love and compassion into their lives. Others have been away from the church for many years due to disappointment or rejection. They, too, are finding the GHCC fulfilling, spiritual, and of great value.

We invite you to visit us some Sunday – just come and check us out! All of us at the Grace and Hope Community Church are very thankful to you for welcoming us. We look forward to knowing all there is about Andover and becoming an important part of your community and partnering along with you to assist in the needs of all.

Look for us soon on Facebook. We also invite you to join us for a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service from 6 to 7 PM on Christmas Eve.

My office address is PO Box 166, Danbury 03230, phone 768-3720. Peace, hope, and kindness to all.
