What a winter! At least the snow is just about gone now, and we are all enjoying the great weather.

The 73rd annual Fourth of July Celebration in Andover is approaching very fast. There is a lot to do still to get ready. Volunteers are still greatly needed to help with various tasks.

The applications have been sent out for participants in the parade. If you have a float, an antique car, a band, fire apparatus, etc. and would like to be a parade participant, please contact Irene Haley at 455-5656. Some notable participants in this year’s parade will be the New Hampshire Pipes and Drums, Leapin’ Lena, and Captain Morrill, just to name a few.

Anyone can participate in the parade! Remember, the theme this year is “Summertime.” Make a float, organize a band, do anything you can imagine.

If you would like to be a vendor on the Village Green, please contact the Doug Phelps at Doug.Phelps80@nullgmail.com. One addition so far will be the bluegrass band Bow Junction.

Ads in the Fourth of July program can be sent in now. The ad prices are $25 for a business card, $50 for half of a page, and $100 for a full page ad. To place your business ad in the Fourth of July program or to donate money, please send them to Irene Jewett, PO Box 36, East Andover NH 03231. For any questions, call Irene at 735-5271.

The next meeting of the Fourth of July Committee will be on Wednesday, May 6, at the Andover Fire Station on Main Street. The public or people interested in becoming volunteers can stop by and say, “Hi.” If you have any questions, please contact Chairman Bob Ward at 735-5061 or Irene Haley at 455-5656.
