It was a great day for our reunion – hot, but with a nice breeze, at the Ordway Recreational Area.

We had about 45 attendees with 35 Andover High School students. Classes of’1940, 1946, 1947, 1955, 1959, and 1960 had no representatives. The first graduating class was 1938, and the last graduating class was 1963. Our opening ceremonies began with a rousing Andover Cheer.

Gay Ellen Rayno led us in God Bless America and a couple of Andover songs. We had a moment of silence for our departed classmates: Clinton Wayne Patten (attended AHS), Leslie Shaw ’43, James Maguire ’62, Rose Jurta Whitney ’44, Dorothy Newcomb Wiggin ’41, Velma Seamans Hines ’49, and Sibly Weed ’61.

The subject of how long reunions should continue was discussed.  All attending decided to hold reunions until the last alum remained.

We had some good wishes from members who could not attend: George Miller, who has moved back to Franklin; Barbara Rivers Hibbs; Jerry Shively, brother Bob, and sister Ann; Stu Lenk; Jerry Alley; and Edwina Phelps Gove ’58.

Willie Wentworth guessed the correct number of beans in the jar and won a box of candy, and Yvonne Keyser Ireland won the door prize of a small Shaker-style box.

Class pictures and a group photo were taken by Bill Thomas, who filled in for Stu Lenk. Liz Thompson and Lily Ordway kept all the names and years correct. Memorabilia was on hand for all to view. Only one wedding album showed up. Maybe next year we can have a few more.

After the meeting we enjoyed a bountiful and delicious pot luck lunch.

Our thanks to all the committee members, for once again providing a memorable reunion. See you next year!
