Each year, Proctor’s physical plant evolves a bit further. A $30 million capital campaign has kicked off plans to add a new dining commons, new dormitory, and renovations to existing facilities. This fall, Proctor will break ground on the first of these projects with construction for the new Proctor Dining Commons, a 16,000 square foot dining facility located in front of the existing Farrell Field House overlooking Carr Field and the Proctor Ski Area.

In 1977, Proctor’s Cary House burned to the ground. Cary House was home to twenty-six students, four faculty, and the school’s dining facilities for more than a half century. The untimely fire forced Proctor to create a temporary kitchen and dining hall in the Farrell Field House, which continues to serve Proctor today, despite a student body that has grown by more than 50% since the time of the fire. The new Dining Commons presents an opportunity for Proctor to further its health and wellness initiatives, and provide valuable meeting space for the entire community to gather at one time.
