Andover Institute to Hold Photo Expo at Grange Hall

Exhibit plus workshops on November 7

As The Andover Beacon went to press in late October, eight local photographers had signed up to display their work, share experiences, and discuss tools of the trade at the event labeled PhotoExpo 1, to be held on Saturday, November 7, between 10 AM and 2 PM in Highland Lake Grange Hall in East Andover.

Others interested in digital photography are also welcome to attend, interact, and learn, as are potential purchasers. The event, open to the public at no charge, is sponsored by the Andover Institute, an arm of the non-profit Andover Community Association.

Photographers scheduled to display their work include Joyce Bourdon, Larry Chase, Steve Colardeau, Lynn Tiede, Dick Crow, Jay Fitzpatrick, Rick Libbey, and Zachary Webster. Others interested in participating should contact Jay at jall@nulltds.net for more information and to reserve display space.

The event will also feature a series of free workshops useful for photographers at all levels of experience and open to all who attend. The schedule:

10:15 AM: High Dynamic Range (HDR) image capture and processing – Steve Colardeau

11 AM: Photoshop actions: content awareness and cloning – Jay Fitzpatrick

Noon: Featured presentation by professional wildlife photographer Rick Libbey, owner of Moose Man Nature Photos of Andover and well-known for his spectacular images of moose, loons, eagles, and other wildlife in their natural settings..

12:45 PM: Light painting – speaker to be determined

Commenting on the event, organizer Jay Fitzpatrick said: “There are a great number of talented photographers in the Andover area, and this event is designed to give them a venue to show and sell their work and also to share their expertise and experiences with others. The mission of the Andover Institute is to bring people together to learn new things and gain new skills, and this PhotoExpo is designed to do exactly that.”
