Paul Francis Wilcox, 94, died on October 12, 2015, at Mountain Ridge in Franklin following a brief illness.

He leaves his son, Robert Wilcox, and wife Sherry; his step-daughter, Joyce Johnston; his daughter, Ruth Niven and partner Kevin Waldron; his daughter-in-law, Linda Wilcox; his step-daughter, Linda Rowe and husband Daryl; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was pre-deceased by his wife, Mary (Davis) Wilcox; his son, Richard Wilcox; and his son, Ralph Wilcox.

Born in Oneonta, New York, on June 20, 1921, to Francis and Beatrice Wilcox, Paul grew up in Lebanon and later moved to Franklin. He enlisted in the US Army’s 704th Military Police Battalion in 1942 and was discharged as sergeant in 1946.

He and his first wife, Marion (Emery) Wilcox, raised their children in Franklin. When his sons joined the Boy Scouts of America, he helped as an assistant leader for local Troop 52.

Paul enlisted in the Army National Guard’s 3643rd Light Maintenance DS Company of Concord in 1951 and retired as SSG/E6 in 1981. He worked at the National Guard Armory in Concord for many years.

He retired from Oak Laminates in Franklin in 1986. In 1972, Paul moved to Andover, where he had many good neighbors. He enjoyed reading, fishing, and prospecting.

An informal gathering of family and friends was held on October 18 at his son’s home in Franklin to mark his passing.
