People - Obits - 160110 AubeBarbara Jane Aube, 70, a resident of Andover for over 36 years, died on January 10, 2016 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon following a short illness.

Barbara was born in Chicago on October 24, 1945. Following high school she went on to business college for two years. She was presently employed with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services in Franklin as a secretary, working there for over 30 years until her recent illness.

Barbara especially enjoyed spending time with her two sons and was always there to chat and exchange and listen to each other’s daily stories. With the birth of her grandson, she became a beaming grandmother. Barbara enjoyed the family home on Highland Lake and at times went fishing. She loved to walk and found joy when her boys would join her. A homemaker, she enjoyed her own cooking.

She was recently predeceased by a brother, Steven Smith. She leaves her husband of 36 years, Peter C. Aube of Andover; sons Tobie J. Aube and his wife Rebecca (Cunningham) and their son Zachary Raymond Aube of Claremont, and Henry J. Aube of Andover.

Calling hours were held on January 16 at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home in Tilton. A graveside service will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery in Franklin in the spring. Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Barbara’s name to the Franklin Animal Shelter, PO Box 265, Franklin NH 03235.
