Gloria H. Blandford passed peacefully on January 5, 2016 at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen.

Gloria was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on February 3, 1938, the daughter of Richard A. and Alice L. (Smith) Hubbs. She was a graduate of Malden High in Massachusetts and attended Vesper George School of Art in Boston. As a lover of art, Gloria used her talent to paint many beautiful nature scenes, flowers, and birds.

Gloria’s husband of 39 years, Mark H. Blandford, passed in 1998. Gloria met her husband Mark in Boston. After they married, they moved to Manchester, where they started a family. In 1966 they bought their only home in Concord.

Gloria was a loving wife and mother. She worked as a homemaker, caretaker, and bank worker. As an active member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Concord, she served as Treasurer for 15 years.

Among surviving family members is Gloria’s granddaughter, Alyssa McDaniel and her husband Timothy of Andover.
