Mother of William Mock

Barbara (Chase) Mock, 78, died on January 9, 2016 at the Concord Hospital. She was born in Concord to the late Irving and Mary (Shugrue) Chase in the summer of 1937 and grew up in the Penacook area and was a 1954 graduate of St. Johns High School in Concord.

Barbara worked for the State of New Hampshire Tax Commission Municipal Service Division for many years and was the Town Clerk in Webster for 25 years before her retirement in 2002. She was formerly of member of the Boutwell’s woman’s bowling league in Concord. She loved to do word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles and was one who always loved to hear or tell a good joke!

Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Robert Mock, in 2004 and a son, Robert Mock, in 2015.

She is survived by her son, William Mock and his wife, Suzanne, of Andover; her daughter, Kathleen Byrd and her husband, Anthony of Harrisburg, Ark.; two sisters and their husbands, Miriam Lorden and her husband, John of Webster and Patricia Brown and her husband, Bob of Concord; her grandchildren, Jessie Byrd Gilbreth, Amanda Byrd, Anthony Byrd, Elizabeth Brannigan-Mock, Jeremiah Mock, and Robert Mock; her great-grandchildren, Jayvin and Kade; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and two very close friends, Brenda Silver and Katie Cayer.

There will be no services at this time. A graveside funeral service will take place in the spring in Corser Hill Cemetery in Webster, where she will be buried with her husband Bob.
