The Last Steam Locomotive through Andover

Bill Bardsley presents an enlargement for Town Hall

The Nickel Plate Road 759 steam locomotive came through East Andover late in 1973, probably the last steam locomotive to pass through. Bill Bardsley took this photo of the train when it stopped in East Andover to take on water, courtesy of the East Andover Fire Department (since all the railroad's water towers were gone). Bill had the photo enlarged and mounted and has donated it to the Town Hall.
