AE/MS Holds Second Annual Literacy Night

Books and PJs a big hit

On January 21, AE/MS held its second annual Literacy Night. The evening’s theme was Bedtime Stories. Sixty children in grades kindergarten through fourth and their families came back to school on this winter night in their pajamas, cozied up with their stuffed animals, and listened to enticing bedtime stories. After the stories, everyone participated in related activities and crafts. To end the evening, families enjoyed milk and cookies and brought home “new-to-them” books from the Book Swap. Some of the highlights noted by the attendees included: “Books,” “Bedtime story with lanterns," “Reading in the tent with the fire,” “Sense of community,” and “Getting together to have a book read to us.” In this photo, Mrs. Lauster welcomes Adalyn, Cameron, and Wesley Boucher to Literacy Night.
