Several years ago, a group of five Andover ladies who enjoyed their hobby of rug hooking – Julie Mayo, Marge Leber, Sandra Graves, Grace Stetson, and Pat Cutter – conceived, designed, and created a pictorial rug that features 12 well-known buildings and places in Andover. The original intent was to raise money for the Andover Historical Society.

The rug was completed in 2015, and a raffle was planned, but the finished project attracted the attention of several citizens who felt that the rug should stay in Andover. To that end, they started to raise money to keep it here so it can hang in the Town Hall.

The fundraising is ongoing. If you’d like to contribute, contact Shirley Currier at Clyde.Shirley@nulltds.net or 735-5394.
