ANDOVER ELEMENTARY MIDDLE SCHOOL

www.aemseagles.org

School District Meeting is Tuesday, March 1st at 7:00 pm. This is the Tuesday we return from vacation. This is a very important meeting for our school as the budget for 2016-2017 is discussed and voted upon. You must be present to vote. Babysitting is being provided in the middle school wing. Teachers are showing age appropriate videos and playing board games. Children are welcome to make it a pajama night! Babysitting/entertaining will be provided until the meeting ends.

The 2016-2017 school calendar has been set. The first day of school for AEMS students is August 29th. The AEMS February and April vacations match both the Merrimack Valley School District and the Kearsarge School District. Town, state, and national elections will take place in the school gym on September13th, November 8th, and March 14th. Those three dates will be Teacher Workshop days and the students will not be in school. If all goes according to plan the last school day for students will be June 16th.

Speaking of next year…we are looking for members of the 2016-17 kindergarten class. If you know of Andover children who will be five years old on or before September 30th, 2016, please send them our way. Parents should call AEMS for registration information.

Second graders ran a successful and delicious Healthy Heart breakfast in February. The AEMS diners enjoyed the meal and a large donation was made to the Franklin Animal Shelter.

I am very excited about our upcoming drama production and can’t wait until the end of March! The Andover Players will present Seussical the Musical on March 24th and 25th. The AEMS gym will be closed vacation week while sets are being built and painted for the play. The gym will have limited use between now and the end of March because of the set, props, lights, and sound equipment in gym.

Once again we are appreciative to the town of Andover, Proctor Academy, and lots and lots of volunteers for making skiing, snowboarding, and skating available to our students. Another great winter activity season has ended.

Spring must be right around the corner as the boys are already talking about playing baseball. The younger boys have great baseball opportunities in our town. Older boys can play Babe Ruth baseball for the Merrimack Valley Youth Baseball League. Check out their website below and register.

Don’t forget the EAVP Spaghetti Supper and Raffle Event on Saturday. There will be amazing food and unbelievable raffle items. See attachment for more details.

Dee Ganley and her amazing dog Flip will be at the Andover Public Library from 6:30-7:30 pm on February 29th. Call Priscilla Poulin to reserve a time for your child to come in and read to Flip. Flip loves AEMS readers!

Enjoy the vacation week with your child!
