Andover Students, Faculty, and Staff Earn Honors at Proctor Commencement

Maggie Royal, class valedictorian, wins Excellence in Science award

Riley Anderson received the Andover Lions Club Award from Howard George at Proctor Academy’s graduation on May 28.

During Proctor Academy’s 168th commencement ceremony and Senior Dinner awards celebration, a number of Andover residents earned honors, including four faculty and staff members. Congratulations to each on their outstanding contributions to the Proctor community.

Class of 2016 Awards

Riley Anderson received the Citizenship Award, given to the best all-around male citizen in the Senior Class, and the Andover Lions Club Award.

Max Barrett received the Fred Elroy Emerson 1886 Award, given to the student who, during the junior and senior years, has shown the greatest development in attaining the ideals of Proctor, and the Performing Arts Award.

Taylor Methven received the Alice S. Fowler Award, given to the student in the graduating class who best exemplifies strength of character, personal dedication, and commitment to the Proctor community, and the Doc Howard Sportsmanship Award.

Maggie Royal was Valedictorian for the Class of 2016 and received the Excellence in Science Award.

Faculty and Staff Awards

Peter Southworth received the John O’Connor Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Buz Morison received the Renaissance Teacher Award.

Alex Estin received the Nance Patten Barrett Staff Award.

Seth Currier received the Scott Pond Prize.
