Franklin Opera House Celebrity Waiters Dinner and Auction

Bid in the live auction via the Web

Press release

For 12 years, the Franklin Opera House has held the Celebrity Waiters Dinner as its premier fundraiser, offering a delicious dinner, presaged by appetizers provided by each table’s well-known waiter, and followed with a live auction of eclectic and appealing items from local businesses, individual donors, and friends of the Opera house.

This year the fabled event will occur on Saturday, September 10, at the Mojalaki Country Club in Franklin. Tickets are sold exclusively through the Opera House box office, but time is running out! If you have not bought your dinner tickets for $25 each, or purchased an entire table for you, your friends, and family (at a discounted $180), then you may not be able to attend one of the most affable and enjoyable events of the year.

Individual tickets or a complete table can be reserved by calling the Opera House box office at 934-1901 or in person through the rear corner, side door off Memorial Street, on Wednesdays through Fridays between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM.

This year, for the first time, bidding on certain items from the live auction (don’t forget that there is also a silent auction the night of the dinner as well) is open to all via the Internet. Simply register at BiddingOwl.com and post your absentee bids. All items listed will be subject to possible increased bids during the live auction on the 10th.

In BiddingOwl.com‘s “Featured Auction” for Franklin Opera House you’ll find such lots as a handmade crocheted dragon; a Spurs jersey signed by Matt Bonner, a New Hampshire native; framed original art; an overnight stay at the Snowy Owl Inn; a kayak lesson; Red Sox tickets to an Orioles game; dinner with the Mayor of Franklin; cookies baked for you every month for a year; and Monarchs ticket vouchers.

The silent auction during the dinner will feature themed baskets such as one dedicated to Downton Abbey and an adult coloring grouping, as well as gift certificates from local merchants, jewelry, and a multitude of surprise items.

Come, enjoy a wonderful dinner, warm camaraderie, a fun-filled atmosphere, and then bid high and often in the rewarding and entertaining live and silent auctions, all to benefit the Franklin Opera House!
