US Senate, Republican, Tom Alciere

Foreign Policy: I oppose the endless, unjust, and undeclared wars that make us less safe. I support neutrality in foreign conflicts because our borders are our borders.

Hitler’s victims had nowhere to run. Later, Israel was established as a refuge for Jewish folks, but what about all the other victims? Now the US is entangled in an alliance with Israel, contrary to the Founding Fathers’ principle of peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none. If persons are trapped abroad, the solution is to offer them safe refuge here.

The Chinese should be shown, by example, how civilized states settle disputes over islands. Have the Permanent Court of Arbitration settle the US-Canada dispute over Machias Seal Island.

Economic Issues: I’d repeal the federal income tax, especially on so-called “Americans” abroad. FATCA prevents many from opening bank accounts, or holding jobs involving business accounts. If a foreign country passed a law classifying you as one of their citizens and another law imposing taxes on all their citizens, should you have to pay?

Rather than “stimulate” the economy by throwing money at it, I prefer to “unleash” the economy by reducing federal regulations, federal bureaucracy, and with that, federal taxes.

Social Issues: Supporting the Doctrine of Enumerated Powers, I’d bind the federal government with the chains of the Constitution. I support liberty and justice for all. Liberty is the freedom to do whatever doesn’t violate anybody’s rights. Obamacare mandates violate this unalienable right.
