In memory of the lives who were lost on September 11th, Andover Fire Department members, Captain Johnson, Firefighter Grant and Firefighter Perkins joined in with the City of Franklin Fire Department to participate in the New Hampshire 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Brady Sullivan Tower in Manchester. In memory of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11, they climbed 110 stories. Each of the climbers, climbed in memory of one of the firemen who lost their life. The Sullivan Tower is 20 stories tall, each group climbed it 5 1/2 times to complete the Stair Climb. When finished, the team completed the climb in 1 hour and 30 minutes . They attempted 10 floors with their air packs on. All in all, it was a truly moving and incredible experience and they look forward to starting our very own Andover Fire and EMS team for next year! We commend you all on your mission today! What an honor it is to share in such an experience. Rest in peace to those lost in 9/11.
