Register of Deeds, Republican, Kathi L. Guay

I started my career with the Registry of Deeds in 1975, working and learning all aspects of the job prior to running for election in 1984. I have had the privilege of serving the citizens of Merrimack County as Register since 1985.

I was the first county in New Hampshire to start electronic recording of our documents. This has benefited the land recording industry and consumers with efficiencies and cost savings while also saving the county thousands of dollars.

I am most proud to have received the national Linda S. Carter award for Excellence in Government.

I am nationally certified in Records Management and Land Records Administration and participate in continuing education every year.

Professional associations: President of the National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials and Clerks 2007-2008; former member and co-chair of the Business Process and Procedures committee section of the Property Records Industry Association; current legislative co-chair, New Hampshire Register of Deeds Association; current Executive Board member of the New Hampshire Association of Counties; president of the New Hampshire Register of Deeds Association 1992-2002.

I will continue to ensure that the Registry of Deeds office remains a self-supporting function of county government and a contributor to reducing the tax burden on our citizens while maintaining the utmost care, protection, and preservation of the property records of Merrimack County.

I look forward to continuing to serve the residents of Merrimack County and ask for your vote on Tuesday, November 8.
