South Danbury Church Speaker Series, February 2017

First meeting Friday, February 10

Press release

The South Danbury Christian Church Speaker Series continues on Friday, February 10, at 7 PM. Jim Heavey, Master Builder for the South Danbury Church Preservation Project, has thoroughly studied the church site and examined the church from top to bottom, including several days in the crawl space investigating the foundations and floor framing.

He will share his experiences and discoveries, and explain his recommendations and architectural plans. Jim has the gift of reading buildings like a book, and an engaging way of helping others to see and understand what historic buildings need and want.

The next Speaker Series program will be on Friday, February 24, at 7 PM. Watch for posters on local bulletin boards, visit the Friends of Danbury Facebook page, call 603-491-3196, or send an e-mail message to SouthDanburyChurch@nullgmail.com for more information.

The church preservation project is supported by a matching grant from the New Hampshire Land and Community Heritage Program (LCHIP). The church is halfway to its fundraising goal, but still has to raise $40,000 to receive the full $80,000 LCHIP grant. Tax-deductible contributions can be made at church events or mailed to the South Danbury Church Preservation Project, 1411 U.S. Route 4, Danbury, New Hampshire 03230.
