Blazing Star Grange Hosts Silent Movie Night

Saturday, March 18, at 7 PM

Press Release

Mark your calendars: The Grange will hold  the Third Annual Silent Movie Night at the Blazing Star Grange Hall in Danbury on Saturday, March 18 at 7 PM!

Does attending a silent film sound passe and boring? Think you’d sleep through a black and white film without computerized sound and special effects? Some first-time attendees admit to being hesitant initially; they are now hooked and look forward to the annual Silent Movie Event.

Maybe you’ll marvel at being drawn into the plot or stunned by the sound effects. The live accompaniment provided by Jeff Rapsis, a New Hampshire-based silent film musician, takes the silent movie up a few decibels as well. Rapsis provides insight into the making of these great films and says the crowd makes the movie.

The century-old Grange Hall on 15 North Road in Danbury brings in a larger crowd each year and the event keeps getting bigger and better.

The evening will start at 7 PM with Haunted House starring Buster Keaton followed by Lon Chaney in Phantom of the Opera.

Suggested donation for admission is $5 with light refreshments and popcorn available. For more information visit blazingstargrange.org, jeffrapsis.com or call 768-5579.
