Center for the Arts Announces Scholarship Winners

The Center for the Arts is proud to award the following 2017 Scholarship Awards. Student scholarships were awarded to the following students in grades 7-12. Courtney Lauster, a senior at Kearsarge High School who is a talented student of the performing arts, will be attending Missouri State College and majoring in theater and drama. Scout Armstrong, a junior at Merrimack High School, will be attending the Massachusetts College of Art and Design for a four-week workshop in art and design. Danielle Cherry, a junior at Bishop Brady High School, will be going to a film workshop at New York University in New York City. Kaitlin Glidewell, a junior at Kearsarge, will be attending workshops with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. She is a talented dancer and her goal is to perform as a Rockette. Lily Magoon, a sophomore at Kearsarge, is a musical theater performer who will be an intern at the New London Barn Playhouse this summer.

The recipient of the Lang Memorial Scholarship awarded to a senior who is going on to college and pursuing the arts went to Annie Tilley, a senior at Kearsarge High School. Annie is a talented artist who has been accepted at the Chicago Institute of Art in Chicago.

The Adult Scholarship recipient is Brooke Solomon who will be going to a screenwriter’s lab in Greece. She attends Emerson College.

Funded by the generosity of members and the community these scholarships are awarded to students who are pursuing any area of the arts (literature, drama, dance, music or the visual arts).
