Town Clerk Grateful for Election Volunteers

By Joanna Sumner, Town Clerk

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who volunteered their time to help with the election.  It takes many hands for the election to happen and it was particularly difficult for our volunteers to travel in the snow on Tuesday.

Our ballot clerks were:  Stephanie Hurbutt, Susan Currier, Karen Forsberg, Robert Feoli, Joshua Wagner and James Dragun.

Our ballot counters were:  The supervisors of the checklist:  Doug Phelps and Janet Splan. Betsy Paine took Dan Coolidge’s place as moderator during the ballot counting.  Then there was Bonnie Wesley, Josi Martin, Stephanie Hurlbutt, Ted Kendrick, Susan Currier, Donna Duclos, John Wagner, Beth Bellows, Michael Daigel, Michael Elveth, Josh Wagner, Stuart Clark, Harold Tuttle and Linda Tuttle.  Counting ballots can be very challenging particularly when there are a lot of write in candidates. The final tally was completed around 11:00 p.m.

Also a special thanks to James Dragun and Nancy Teach for staying to sign people in as they came in to attend the town meeting.

This will be my last town meeting as Town Clerk as I will be retiring this summer.  I have found the job here to be very rewarding and have enjoyed making friends with so many of you through work. Thank you for supporting me at the polls
