Andover Congregational Church News

By Sandra Miller

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!  How blessed we are to live in this wonderful country!  Thank you God! We wish each of you a meaningful, safe, and Happy 4th of July!

The Church will have a presence at Andover’s 4th of July celebration. We are planning on having a float in the parade. In addition, we will again be selling cotton candy on the green. All profits from these sales will go to the local food pantry.

Baby bottles filled with loose change were collected on Father’s Day for the “Aspire Women’s Center” in Laconia.  I’ll report next month on the amount collected for this worthwhile cause. “Aspire” provides life-affirming pregnancy support services, including pregnancy tests and ultrasounds for pregnancy confirmation, for women in the community experiencing unplanned pregnancies.

Pastor John Wagner recently attended “Pastor’s Day Out” at Grace Chapel church in Pembroke. This was sponsored by The NH Alliance. Keynote speaker Clive Calvert spoke on Church unity from a leadership perspective.  He is currently working to connect pastors throughout New England. Workshops were held in the afternoon.

Kathy Winkfield who lives in New London and is a long-time member at ACC was recently ordained for diaconal ministry in the Anglican Church of North America at All Saints Cathedral in Amesbury, MA. Kathy has prepared hard for this day, and we rejoice with her and her family and look forward to seeing how God may use Kathy in her calling in the years ahead. Congratulations Kathy!

Our Flea Market and Bake Sales continue to be held at the Grange Hall the last Saturday of each month from 9 AM – 2 PM. Contact Donna Thompson, 744-6858, if you have items to donate. We continue to raise money for the Grange Hall repairs and restoration,  If you would like to donate towards this work, you may do so by sending a check of any amount to the ACC, (memo – GH restoration), PO Box 211, E. Andover NH 03231.

You are always welcome at the Andover Congregational Church. Feel free to call the Church office (603) 735-5160 to speak with Pastor John Wagner for more information on what’s going on at the Church or if you need help in any way. Our Church service and Sunday School begin at 9:30 AM every Sunday.

Thought for the day: “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll  fall for anything.” (Read Isaiah 7:9).
