If you’re involved in any way with child care on a regular basis, you’ll want to participate in a “virtual” presentation by, and discussion with, Joelyn Drennan, senior program director of The New Hampshire Children’s Trust, to be offered at 7 PM on Tuesday, March 23. Please note: The program was originally scheduled for March 16 but was pushed back a week to avoid conflicting with the second Town Meeting.

The event, sponsored by The Andover Community Hub, is free and open to the public.

What does the Children’s Trust do?  “Simply put,” Drennan says, “we work to ensure that kids across the Granite State grow up in safe, nurturing environments.”   The title of her talk is “Great Childhoods.”

Because of the continuing coronavirus pandemic, the event will be delivered “live” over the internet to local residents via an easy-to-use videoconferencing  technology called Zoom.  Information and a link to join the session can be gained by sending an e-mail request to  TheAndoverHub@nullgmail.com.

Headquartered in Concord and In operation since 1986, the non-profit Trust provides backbone support to the state’s 19 Family Resource Centers, which offer a variety of services including parent education, information and referrals;  grandparent support groups; mentoring; educational support; cultural and arts events; and other services. 

Drennan will be joined in the event by Michelle Lennon, executive director of the Greater Tilton Area Family Resource Center, which recently opened a satellite center on Central Street in Franklin.

The event is the third in an ongoing Hub-sponsored series aimed at  publicizing the work of non-profits headquartered beyond Andover’s borders  that include the town in their coverage areas.  Earlier presentations were made by the Kearsarge Neighborhood Partners and the Kearsarge Council on Aging, both based in New London.
