Nearly 120 Andover Households Have Donated to the Beacon

Generous matches magnify donations

By Charlie Darling

If you haven’t donated to The Andover Beacon yet this year, now would be a great time to do so! We need the support this year of at least 300 Andover households (out of Andover’s total count of 1,227). We’ve received donations so far from almost 120 households (about 40% of our goal), so hearing from you at this point will be very meaningful.

Twice the Impact

The Beacon is extraordinarily lucky this year to have received $4,400 in pledges from generous community members to match certain donations this year.

For households that have never donated to the Beacon before, there is $2,200 pledged to match dollar-for-dollar every first-time donation that we receive. Whether you’re new to town or have lived here forever, your first-time donation is an important boost (doubly so this year) for the Beacon’s ability to continue to serve the community.

For households that have donated before and are able to increase their 2021 donation over their most recent earlier donation, there’s another $2,200 pledged to match however much of an increase you’re comfortable making in your donation this year. Whatever works for you is worth double to the Beacon this year.

Help Us Earn the Full Matches

If you’ve already sent a donation to the Beacon this year, thank you! Your support is vital and very meaningful and will definitely be matched per the conditions above. Again, thank you!

If you recently received a letter as part of our “All Over Town, All Year ‘Round” campaign, then you know the drill — please use the reply envelope to send your 2021 donation as soon as you can.

And if you haven’t donated and haven’t heard from us yet this year, please use the form on page four of this issue to send your 2021 donation and take advantage of the special matching funds explained above. Every household that donates to the Beacon for the first time ever makes a really big difference!

Please take advantage of these important matching funds before the end of the year. It would be a shame to let any of those pledged dollars disappear because we couldn’t raise the required match.

Whatever you can do to support the Beacon is very meaningful and very much appreciated by the whole community.
