Andover Community Church’s “Priests in Charge” to be Installed as Rectors

In-person services have resumed

Press release

We hope you are enjoying the summer. We have been busy as beavers! And, with the pandemic easing up, we have eliminated the masks and roped off pews in our Sunday services, which is wonderful. We do, however, request if you have not had your vaccine to wear a mask or, if you feel more comfortable wearing a mask at any time, please do.

On to some exciting news. For the past 18 months we have had the Reverends Bill and Cinnamon Blomquist as “priests in charge.” This fall we are preparing to officially install them as Rector and Rector Associate. We were so blessed when they agreed to come to the church and serve the community. More on the big celebrations to come!

Many of you have already seen Pastor Bill at numerous graveside services around the area. If you would like to meet him for coffee, or even a pastoral concern, give him a call at 735-5160, or stop by any Sunday. Welcome to Bill and Cinnamon!

This September we are hosting a 10-week course called Alpha, designed for guests to explore the Christian faith through home-cooked meals, a short presentation on an aspect of Christian spirituality, and small group discussion where people are encouraged to openly share their thoughts and viewpoints.

It is a great program for people seeking answers to life, or those wishing to brush up on the basics. This is a global program of our Holy Trinity, Brompton, United Kingdom, which has impacted many over the last decade. For more information on the course, or how you can sign up, visit the Community/Alpha page on the church website at AndoverCommunityNH.org.

We wish to thank you for your contributions for the enormous project of paving on our Church and East Andover Preschool parking lots. The work will be done by the end of August and will be a huge benefit to the community, especially when the coffee house starts up again.

If you would like to contribute to this project, send your check to: Andover Community Church, PO Box 211, East Andover NH 03222, Attention: Donna T. Questions can be emailed to CraftyDonna@nullmetrocast.net. Better yet, give Donna a call at 744-6858.

Many of the funds have been raised through the continuous summer rummage and bake sales which are held on the last Saturday of every month through October 30. Our next sale is Saturday, August 28. Stop by to see what you like, or just to say, “Hello!”

Other newsy events at Andover Community Church include:

  • “Invitations,” a class for those interested in becoming church members and/or confirmed in the Faith, on Sunday, August 8, and Sunday, August 15.
  • “KidzChurch,” a service of original music and activities and prayers for elementary-aged kids, beginning again on Sunday, September 12.
  • “Third Saturdays, Worship, Testimony, and Ministry,” held on the third Saturday of each month, from 9 to 11 AM. These are ecumenical gatherings, and all who are seeking healing or more of God’s presence are welcomed.

Finally, we are a praying church, believing that God intervenes in love for His children. The Apostle Paul reminds us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6) If you need prayer, contact the offices at AndoverCommunityNH.org. Your request will be prayed for and confidentially held in prayer for two weeks.
