“Geese on the Beach” Project Proves Successful

None

By Janet Eklund

The combined efforts to keep the Canada Geese off the Town Beach and out of Chaffee Park paid off this summer. What a difference a year can make. Geese are not there.

Thank you to our Town Selectboard, Road Agent and Highway Department, the Highland
Lake Protective Association, private landowners, and the East Andover Preschool children and
volunteers, who raked the beach and park in April, for making it happen. My personal thanks go
to Road Agent Frank Bryson, for scaring away the geese that tried to set up residence, and to Earle Davis, HLPA, for helping me to get the ball rolling.

I am grateful to everyone in town who supported me in my “Geese on the Beach” project. I
hope I see you there.
