Halloween Happenings at the Andover Public Library

Gearing up for busy month of fall fun

By Michaela Hoover

On Tuesdays, we will continue to have Story Time at the Bachelder Library at 10 AM. On Wednesdays, we continue to have Story Time, followed by a craft, at the Andover Public Library at 10 AM. We also have rotating after-school activities every Thursday at the Andover Public Library, such as, Take and Make Crafts, STEM Challenges, and Guesstimation Jars.

Sunday, October 15, from 10 AM to 1 PM, you will find us at the Fire Department’s Touch-a-Truck event! We will be handing out free books, signing people up for library cards, and displaying all the cool amenities the library has available to you.

Monday, October 16, at 7 PM, will be the second meeting of our “Read What You Want” Silent Book Club at the Andover Public Library. Bring a book (or find one while you are here) so you can read, snack, and chat with new friends.

Saturday, October 21, at 6 PM, we will be hosting a Not So Spooky Stories Night at the fire pit at Proctor Academy. Kids can come dressed in their Halloween costume, listen to some not-scary Halloween stories, and make s’mores. Please park in the facilities lot on Boat House Lane. We will have signs.

There will not be any bathroom access on site during this event, so please plan accordingly. Participants can use the restroom at the library, but will have to leave the event site to do so.

Saturday, October 21, at 7 PM, we will also be having a Scary Stories Night at the fire pit at Proctor Academy. Participants will listen to a variety of spooky stories about haunting, horrors, and strange happenings. We will also have light refreshments.

There will be signs to indicate where to park (facilities lot on Boat House Lane) and how to get to the fire pit. This event is recommended for participants 10 and older, as the stories will be scary!

The Andover Public Library will also be open for trick or treating on Halloween, so be sure to stop by and see the surprises we have for you. We can’t wait to see you at the library in October!
