Andover Fourth of July Committee Announces Parade Theme!

Entering a float is free; several cash prizes up for grabs

By Jennifer Bent

The Andover Fourth of July Committee is thrilled to announce that this year’s parade theme is “Christmas in July.” Entering a float in the parade is free of charge and there are several cash prizes up for grabs, including a Super Prize of $500.

The Fourth of July Committee would love to see families and businesses create floats and join in the fun! Neighbors can also work together and build a float, combining resources and talents to create a masterpiece. As always, vehicles new and old are welcome too.

In addition to the world famous parade, headed by Andover’s very own Donna Smith, there will be a pancake breakfast held in the AE/MS gymnasium, a Town Green bustling with music, food, and vendors, and a fireworks display that will leave you in awe until August. (An anonymous donor increased the fireworks budget this year). And don’t forget the raffle that Betty Adams and Judy Perrault work on all year.

Please keep in mind that this committee is always looking for volunteers. Please reach out to Doug Phelps or any committee member if you would like to help with parking, set-up/break- down, or volunteer in any way. Jen Bent is the person to contact if you would like to help with the pancake breakfast. That’s all for now. Ho ho, hope to see you on the Fourth!
