Andover Community Church News

Things are hopping in the church and throughout the community.

By Donna Thompson and Bill Blomquist

As I write this, the sun is shining, a great day to get some yard work done. We can’t wait to start planting flowers around our buildings. It always looks so beautiful when the group puts their magic touches to the grounds.

Things are hopping in the church and throughout the community.

On April 7 we were blessed when the Adult and Teen Challenge from Manchester came. It was very uplifting to hear their stories and how they struggled in life. Then when they entered into this program their life changed. From time to time you’ll see this ministry at the Circle K selling customized cutting boards.

On April 14 Father Bill started a new adult class called “The Presence of God.” This is a 5 week class which presents the Holy Spirit as revealed in the Old and New Testaments, and the life of Jesus. Special emphasis is given to those involved in the ministry of healing. If interested please come, the class begins 12 noon each Sunday and lasts one hour.

GriefShare began on April 22 at the Andover Community Hub. This is a really great course, especially to those who have lost a spouse, relative, soul mate, or a friend. Enrollment is still open. GriefShare runs from April 22-June 17, Monday evenings from 6:30-8:30. Check the GriefShare page on our website (www.andovercommunitynh.org) for more information on how this program works.

Starting on Mother’s Day thru Father’s Day, we have baby bottles to hand out for any changes to help Aspire Women’s Center. This helps women who are pregnant and in need of help, plus families. This is just another mission we sponsor.

On May 11 we will be at Franklin Community Day, so stop by and say “hello.”

The Rummage/Bake/Pre-made meals start the last Saturday of this month and continue right into the fall. We can’t wait to see everyone again, and we have so many new items to offer. For any questions, contact Donna by email: craftydonna@nullmetrocast.net, or by cell, 603 393-5470.

If you haven’t checked out the Andover Coffeehouse, stop by the Grange Hall on the third Friday of the month. Food is provided by a team from the church. The money raised goes towards fixing the Grange Hall. Last month our very own Rev. Cinnamon and “Jazzpiration” blew the roof off! So don’t miss this month’s variety of talent.

Also a big shout out to those in the community who helped raise monies to fix the church foundation. (We were very near code red.) Monies were donated and the repair will be done on May 16th. This repair is being done by Erickson Foundation Solutions. We are very blessed to have a community that we have. Our next project will be working on getting more work done on the Grange Hall (painting and siding).

Finally we would like to thank Byron’s Septic Service and Mark Thompson for the emergency work done on our septic system.

If you wish to talk to Father Bill please call the office at 603 735-5160 or email him at andoverchurch@nulltds.net. Go to the web page andovercommunitynh.org to check out what’s happening!
