After three years at AE/MS, Principal Dobe will be retiring. Mr. Dobe navigated our school community through some pandemic induced rough waters, and through it all, he always remained positive and kind. As Mr. Dobe embarks on this new chapter in his life, the AE/MS school community wishes him a retirement filled with sailing adventures and well-deserved relaxation.
Meet Principal Kelly George, the incoming building administrator at Andover Elementary/ Middle School. Ms. George radiates warmth and her dedication to the students and community is what guides her passion for education. Kelly values family involvement and believes a strong relationship between school and home is an invaluable resource in education. Family is important. Kelly lives with her family in Newport, NH and has many close family members who reside in Central New York where she grew up. Her husband, Steve, is trained in culinary arts and is currently employed as the Director of Dining Services at Kendal at Hanover. The apple of her eye, her daughter, Griffin, is a 7th grader who loves to perform in shows at the New London Barn Playhouse and swim in the sea all summer. Last, but not least, completing her family is her one-year-old gentle giant, Louie, who is a rescue Great Pyrenees.
Kelly George comes with experience. She proudly donned the title of Assistant Principal at Penacook Elementary School for the past six years. Prior to that she was the Teaching Principal at Croydon Village School and a Kindergarten teacher for Chicago Public Schools. She is known as a community builder, and her co-workers shared that she has genuine concern for each and every student. Academic excellence is a priority and fostering a culture of kindness is the key to a successful community of engaged learners and educators.
When I asked Kelly why she wanted to work in Andover, she said, “Andover is unique. It is a community with great pride who values family and tradition. That is so much of who I am. From the start, it felt like home and the perfect fit for me. It is a magical place!”
Kelly George will begin her new position on July 1. She has an open-door policy and a willingness to listen to concerns, ideas, and feedback from the families of Andover.
