Franklin – The Franklin Animal Shelter is happy to introduce their new Shelter Manager, Tara Valliere. The following is her own personal introduction:

“I am excited to introduce myself as the new Shelter Manager at Franklin Animal Shelter. I have three wonderful children aged 17, 15, and 9, and our family is completed by our pets: Molly, a chocolate lab; Oliver, a yellow lab; Sadie, a German shepherd mix; and Charlotte, our beloved cat.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Plymouth State University and have gathered extensive experience in retail, specializing in purchasing, pricing, and ordering. Additionally, I previously owned a licensed daycare and currently own Newfound Pet Center and Newfound Sweets and Treats. My love for animals, especially dogs and cats, has been a lifelong passion, driving me to work in animal care and welfare.

My commitment to animal welfare is unwavering. I believe every animal deserves a chance at a happy, healthy life, which is why my stores carry brands that support animal rescues. We also organize toy and treat drives, collect donations, and champion various animal welfare initiatives.

At Franklin Animal Shelter, my goal is to provide every animal with the least stressful experience possible. We focus on love, enrichment, and trust-building to ensure they are comfortable and cared for. Additionally, we work diligently to find the best homes for our animals by thoroughly vetting all adopters to ensure a perfect fit, aiming to secure truly forever homes.

I am also dedicated to ensuring our staff is well-trained in animal care, nutrition, behavior, and communication. This training helps us maintain a safe and healthy environment for every animal under our care. I firmly believe that a holistic approach to animal care, addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs, provides the best outcomes.

I am thrilled to bring my passion for animals and commitment to their well-being to Franklin Animal Shelter. Together, we can create a brighter future for every animal that comes through our doors.”
